Alaska Airlift

Alaska Airlift

COVID-19 has had a dramatic effect on businesses around the world. When the pandemic hit, global supply chains were stricken with logistics issues. The situation was made more challenging for remote locations such as the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) in Alaska, a major cargo hub in North America.

Due to a perfect storm of circumstances – supply chain disruptions, winter weather events, and even an avalanche – deicing fluid was in short supply, threatening the movement of aircraft and cargo. When normal supplies were delayed and could not be delivered, IDS stepped in to help. Our IDS team was able to procure aircraft deicing fluid from its network of multiple vendors, resulting in 200 totes of fluid being flown into ANC to keep the airport and customers flying. We are honored to be a solutions provider for our customers and aviation partners.
